Racing car made of vegetables, which runs on chocolate

Going Green

A racing car built from vegetables and powered by chocolate

The Worldfirst - greenest car of its kind - is expected to reach a top speed of 135mph when it hits the track at Brands Hatch.

Built from recycled cars, plastic bottles and off-cuts from aeroplanes, the Formula 3 vehicle has a steering wheel made from carrot fibre and can run on biodiesel made from waste chocolate and stale wine.

Its creators at Warwick University say their invention may be green - but can reach 60mph from a standing start in less than 2.5 seconds.
Project leader Dr Kerry Kirwan said "the car was proof that 'green cars don't have to be boring".
"We'll be disappointed if it doesn't do well, we believe this is the greenest car in its class. It's the first car of its kind built from waste material, recycled material and natural materials, but it has the same performance levels and looks just like a Formula 3 racing car. We hope to reach out to future scientists and engineers and give them something they can get excited about and relate to".

Most of WorldFirst's carbon fibre bodywork started life as aviation industry scrap and plastic soft drink bottles, while the steering wheel was built from the waste of juiced carrots.
Microscopic fibres from the vegetable waste were mixed with a resin and moulded into a wheel.

The vehicle is powered by the stripped-down 230 horse power aluminium engine taken from a 2-litre BMW diesel. It can run on 100 per cent biofuel made from fermented wine dregs and waste from chocolate factories. Chocolate waste is high in fat - and converts well into 'green fuel', Dr Kirwan said.
Although the cockpit  and chassis are  conventional,  they were recycled from an old Formula 3 racing car. However, under the strict rules of motor racing, its tyres had to be made from conventional rubber, the creators say.

    Peugeot 407 coupe

This is a new Peugeot 407 coupe, which has a 2.0 Diesel HDi protocol filter engine. By that said it is one of the lowest emission engines in its sector (CO2 156g per kilometer)

The design of the car is to keep the air flowing smooth, but at the same time holing the car to the road ahead.

This car also comes with electrically controlled variable shock absorbers, which change every couple of miles. Each absorber is separate and has 9 presetting for it.

I find this car to be pretty cool and I would totally drive this in the states if they every change the laws and Peugeot becomes a brand there as well as Renault, and others.

So stay tuned until next time on Cars North & South.

    ALL NATRURAL

OK I now this has nothing at all to do with cars, but I found it to be a bit funny when I first noticed it at a glans.

Leave me a comment if you see the humor in this photo.

Ok Joey you I know you have something to say about this. So now is your chance.

    No Need for Gas Money

So to day I went for a walk in Villa Alemana, Centro to go to Santa Isabel to buy some water. I came across a wagon with a horse, and thought to my self, this would be the best way to save gas money. All you would need to worry about is feeding your horse grass. Just about every where there is grass to be eaten, and a lot of times people pay for there grass to be eaten. Why not let a horse do that. There you would have a win win situation, and if you wanted to you could chop up some grass to keep for later on when ever she or he gets hungry. When its time to let your horse go back to work she or he will fill back up for free. On top of that you will get paid, and you could use that money to Drive around in your car of course for a longer distance than you would with your horse.
I remember when I was a little boy I was living in Queens New York and every morning on my way to daycare I would see people riding their horse around and also some police use horses too, wich is a good thing because that means they would be doing the earth a favor by not polluting it.

    Russian Lada 2105

This is a 1993, AvtoVAZ, Lada Riva, also known as the BAЗ-2105, or VAZ-2105, this car is from Russia.
It is a medium-size Family car that was Introduced in 1980, this car was different from a few western cars, these are the differences.
It is a tough car that has a thick steel body, and has secondary suspension blocks, which would allow you to drive for a long distance with over a ton in the car while the suspension is sitting on its end stops. The seats where high with an upright position, which made it much easier for elderly people to get in, and out of the car. There was an out of date styling with a standard finish.
The steering gear had a large amount of back lash, it also is very hard to turn the car. The paint work usually did not match the standard colors well. By the way this car has been repainted white with blue stripe's on both sides of the car, also the vents are painted blue.
There is a Turbo model Lada called the Lada 2107 Turbo which was sold in Finland.

Quick tips on how to save gas

So first of all let’s have some fun with this.

    • If you are going to the store near your home you should walk there so that you don’t have to spend your gas money.
    • If you are going to go visit your friend that lives about a mile or two away you can pull your bike out, and have a nice little work out at the same time you will be saving gas.
    • The best way to save gas is to try and not use your car that much.

If you must, here are some helpful tips that have helped me when I drove 50 miles a day to school.

    • Buy gasoline in the early morning when it is at its highest density.
    • Place gear into neutral position while at a standstill.
    • Keep your car tuned-up
    • Car pool.
    • Don't speed.
    • Cars get more mileage at a steady 55 mph.
    • Never rev engine before you turn the car off.
    • Avoid traffic jams.
    • Make sure to always use your gas cap and tighten it properly 3 clicks.
    • Do not weave back and forth through traffic.
    • About every other day I would check my tier pressure because the pressure changes as the weather changes.
    • I always got my oil changed regularly, doing so helps put less strain on the engine of the car, therefore allowing less gas consumption.
    • One way you can change your cars gas consumption dramatically is if you remove any heavy objects from your car.
    • If possible keep your car as empty as you can.
    • Try your best not to leave your car in idle which means to let the engine run but the car is not moving, this does not mean turn your car off at every single stop light you see.
    • Also keep your car in the garage so that your gas does not get to cold or to hot, which would allow the gas to evaporate.

I hope that this will help you out and I will be updating; Quick tips on how to save gas.

Stay tuned until next time on Cars North & South.

You don't see this cars around that often in Albany. This car is also know as the twin-turbo Z32 Aka Fairlady.

Did you know that the twin-turbo 2+2 (four seat model) was never sold in the United States. There is a conversion process, which usually costs less than $10,000, which can be performed by mechanics familiar with the Z32.
